The government of the United Arab Emirates has extended humanitarian assistance to victims of the devastating fire at Korail slum through a winter relief distribution programme in the capital.
The initiative was organised by Rashed Mohammed Naser Almail Alzaabi, foreign aid coordination director at the embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Dhaka, in coordination with the Emirates Red Crescent. Under the programme, winter relief items were distributed among 1,500 affected families.
The relief distribution was held recently at the Banani Model School field, where fire-affected families received essential winter items to help them cope with ongoing hardships following the incident.
Speaking on the occasion, Almail Alzaabi said the UAE stood beside communities affected by crises and reaffirmed continued humanitarian support for Bangladesh, adding that more such initiatives would be undertaken in the future.
The initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Bangladesh during times of crisis.
