Two explosive-like objects and a note were discovered in front of a BNP office in Gangni, Meherpur.
On Wednesday, at around 6:30am, these objects were found in a deserted condition in the Nowda Motmora village of the Motmora Union.
Locals reported that they saw explosive-like objects and a note lying in front of the BNP 1st Ward office. They quickly informed the Gangni police station, and a team from the police reached the scene and recovered the items.
The explosive-like objects were referred to as “hand grenades” by the locals.
Gangni Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bani Israel stated, “Based on local information, we quickly arrived at the site and recovered two explosive-like objects and a note. We are investigating the matter seriously, and legal proceedings are ongoing.”
This incident has caused a stir in the area. The police suspect that these items might have been placed to intimidate someone.
It is worth noting that recently, political conflicts and attacks among various political parties in Gangni have created an atmosphere of fear among the locals.
The police have also stated that the recovered objects will be sent for testing and investigation to determine who is responsible for the incident.
