Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer, President & CEO of Telenor Group, visited Bangladesh this week for her first official trip, demonstrating Telenor’s commitment to the country and its people.
Her visit began with a direct engagement with distributors, retailers, and customers in the marketplace, where she listened to their experiences and challenges.
Benedicte emphasized that understanding customer needs is essential to Telenor’s mission of driving progress.
“Bangladesh is one of Telenor’s most dynamic markets, and it was important to me that the very first thing I did here was to meet the people we serve every day,” said Benedicte.
She further added, “Speaking directly with customers, and spending time with our Grameenphone colleagues and partners, gives me real insight into how connectivity can continue to unlock opportunities across society.”
Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone, welcomed Benedicte, saying her visit underscores the importance of putting people first in their business.
“The discussions with the business community, together with her encouragement to our team, strengthen our resolve to lead Bangladesh’s digital progress with responsibility and ambition,” Yasir added.
Benedicte also met with leaders from the Bangladesh business community and valued Grameenphone enterprise customers during her visit.
She reaffirmed Telenor’s role as a key partner in driving Bangladesh’s digital growth.
Later, Benedicte spent time with Grameenphone employees, joining a floor walk to meet them and address a townhall.
At the townhall, she discussed her vision for Telenor Group and the next wave of solutions that Grameenphone can deliver to support Bangladesh’s future economy.
