Tamim Iqbal has moved to quash speculation over his involvement in the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) ongoing election, insisting he did not cast a vote despite media reports suggesting otherwise.
On Monday afternoon The former national captain clarified in a Facebook post that although he had applied for e-voting earlier, as he was abroad at the time, he ultimately did not take part in the election.
“I had applied for e-voting because I was outside the country. But as a councillor of Old DOHS Club, I did not participate in the election or cast a vote,” Tamim wrote.
His statement follows widespread claims across various media platforms that he had been among those casting ballots in the board polls. Tamim stressed that these reports were unfounded.
The BCB election drew significant attention with senior cricket administrators vying for key positions in the country’s most influential sporting body. Tamim’s denial now feeds into the wider controversies and questions over the credibility and transparency of the election process.
