Singer and actor Tahsan Khan is set to return to the spotlight in a new role after announcing a break from acting and stepping away from releasing new music.
He will host Voice of Bangladesh, the national selection competition for Eurovision Song Contest Asia.
Five prominent figures from Bangladesh’s music industry will serve as judges: Fahmida Nabi, Hamin Ahmed, Bappa Mazumder, Shawkat Ali Emon and Akhi Alamgir.
Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) since 1956, the Eurovision Song Contest is one of the world’s longest-running and largest live music competitions.
Bangladesh is set to participate for the first time in the regional edition, Eurovision Song Contest Asia.
Voice of Bangladesh has been launched to select the country’s representative for the competition.
Following the initial auditions, the top 12 contestants are now taking part in a special grooming round.
The grand finale will be held on 30 September, when Bangladesh’s representative for the international contest will be selected.
The winner will represent Bangladesh at Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026, scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 14 November.
The competition will also feature contestants from South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal, Bhutan, Cambodia and Laos.
The organisers will unveil details of the competition at a press conference in Dhaka on 22 July. Tahsan Khan and the five judges will also be introduced officially at the event.
The competition, including the grand finale, will be broadcast on OTT platform Bongo and NTV.
