Actress, musician and producer Meher Afroz Shaon has shared her impressions of the Eid release Domm, directed by Redoan Rony. Watching the film in theatres, Shaon praised the performances of the cast while noting that the movie’s runtime felt extended and intense.
Posting on social media, Shaon remarked that the film maintained a heavy atmosphere throughout, with few light or comedic moments to provide relief. She highlighted Chanchal Chowdhury’s appearances as brief but welcome respites for the audience. Afran Nisho, in the role of Shahjahan Islam Noor, earned special mention for his dedication, with Shaon noting that his commitment to the character was evident on screen.
Shaon also commended Dolly Zahur for her impactful performance as Noor’s mother. Despite her limited screen time, Zahur’s expressions and subtle gestures impressed Shaon, who said they were inspiring and a reminder of the art of acting. Pooja Cherry’s portrayal of Noor’s wife was also acknowledged as part of the ensemble effort that helped bring the story to life.
The film’s screenplay was a collaborative effort, penned by Redwan Rony, Rabiul Alam Robi, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhor and Md. Saifullah Riyad.
