The authorities have expelled four students from Kazipur Degree College in Gangni, Meherpur, after a video showing them using books during an English exam under Bangladesh Open University spread across social and mainstream media.
Two teachers have also been relieved of exam duties, and officials said departmental and legal action is being prepared against those involved, the Education Ministry said in a statement.
The incident drew further controversy after two journalists filming the scene were assaulted. Their mobile phones had allegedly been snatched during the incident.
Rabbi Ahmed, Meherpur district correspondent for Bangladesh Betar and Nagorik TV, filed a case at Gangni Police Station on Friday against Rafiquzzaman, Moniruzzaman Biplob, and 10 unidentified others over the attack.
