The new year has begun, but most OTT platforms are yet to finalise their programming plans for 2026. Except for Chorki, platform executives say they need a few more days to complete their schedules.
The TIMES of Bangladesh spoke to officials from local OTT platforms including Chorki, BongoBD, Bioscope Plus, iScreen, Hoichoi and Deepto Play. They said audiences will continue to receive a diverse mix of content, including films, web series and game shows.
Chorki
Chorki plans to release a theatrical film starring Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury and Pooja Cherry, directed by Redwan Rony, before its OTT debut.
The platform is also producing a Shihab Shaheen–directed series, with Bidya Sinha Saha Mim making her Chorki debut, while more projects remain in planning.
Hoichoi Bangladesh
Hoichoi Bangladesh released only three series and films last year but plans a much larger slate for 2026. Alongside new directors, previous collaborators will also return.
One of the key projects is ‘Bonolota Express’, Hoichoi Studios’ first theatrical release. A sequel to ‘Golam Mamun’ may also be released this year.
iScreen
iScreen said its planning is not yet complete, though director Raihan Rafi has announced a film titled ‘Pressure Cooker’, likely to star Shobnom Bubly and Nazifa Tushi. The platform is also planning sports-themed projects.
BongoBD
‘Bachelor Point’ will continue to air regularly on BongoBD this year. The second season of ‘Family Feud Bangladesh’ is also set to begin.
The first season was hosted by Tahsan Khan. Sources say the new season will be larger in scale. Mezbaur Rahman Sumon’s film Roid will also be released, while details of other projects remain undisclosed.
