The country’s first multiplex, Star Cineplex, continues to expand with new branches across Bangladesh. The long-awaited Narayanganj branch, originally scheduled to open last Eid, will now officially launch on Tuesday, April 7.
Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, AGM of the company’s media and marketing department, said, “We sincerely apologise to the viewers of Narayanganj for the delay. Many have been eagerly waiting for this branch, and now their wait is coming to an end. We are delighted to fulfil this long-awaited desire. Due to some initial limitations, we are starting with two shows, with all screenings set to be fully launched in the coming days.”

The new multiplex is located in the Shimanto Tower in Jalkuri, Narayanganj, and features three halls. Two of the halls have 178 seats each, while the third has 75 seats.
Currently, Star Cineplex operates branches in Bashundhara City Shopping Mall Panthapath, Dhaka; Shimanto Shambhar (formerly Rifles Square), Dhanmondi 2, Dhaka; SKS Tower, Mohakhali, Dhaka; Military Museum, Bijoy Sarani, Dhaka; Sony Square, Mirpur 1, Dhaka; and Bali Arcade, Nawab Serajuddowlah Road, Chawkbazar, Chittagong.
Additional branches are under construction in cities including Bogura, with further expansion planned across Dhaka.
