Standard Islami Bank PLC has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ramada by Wyndham Cox’s Bazar Kolatoli Beach to offer special discounts for bank cardholders, the lender said in a press release on Wednesday. The agreement, signed at the bank’s head office on 20 May 2026, will allow cardholders to receive up to 60% off leisure stays at the coastal hotel destination in Cox’s Bazar, the bank said.
The pact was signed on behalf of Standard Islami Bank by Acting Managing Director and CEO Md Siddiqur Rahman and by Yeasir Mostafa, Sales and Marketing Manager of Ramada by Wyndham Cox’s Bazar Kolatoli Beach, according to the bank statement. The move aims to make holiday travel more affordable and convenient for customers.
Senior officials from both organisations attended the ceremony, including Mansoor Ahmed, Head of BMOD at Standard Islami Bank; Mohammad Kaiser Alam Mozumder, Head of HRD; Shah Rahat Uddin Ahmed, Head of Treasury; Md Mizanur Rahman, Company Secretary; Md Mushfiqur Rahman, Chief Technology Officer; Mir Md Shahinur Rahman, Head of Cards and ADC; and Md Rafiqur Rahman, Principal of the bank’s Learning Center, along with Nusrat Jahan Chowdhury, Senior Executive (Marketing and PR) of Ramada by Wyndham Cox’s Bazar Kolatoli Beach.
Standard Islami Bank said in its press release that the discount programme is part of broader efforts to enhance customer value and support leisure travel planning amid peak seasons. Cardholders will be able to book stays at preferred rates, leveraging the partnership to cut costs on room rates and related services during holiday periods.
The bank’s acting managing director, Md Siddiqur Rahman, who took on the role earlier this year, has overseen strategic customer‑focused initiatives since joining Standard Islami Bank, bringing extensive experience from his previous leadership roles in Islamic banking.
Ramada by Wyndham Cox’s Bazar Kolatoli Beach, a beachfront property on Marine Drive near Cox’s Bazar International Airport, offers hospitality services including dining, leisure facilities and scenic access to one of Bangladesh’s most popular tourist destinations.
The collaboration reflects an increasing trend among financial institutions in Bangladesh to partner with hospitality providers, enhancing cardholder benefits while broadening service offerings beyond traditional banking.
Cardholders will be able to redeem the discount through bookings made directly with the hotel, subject to terms and availability agreed between Standard Islami Bank and the hotel. The bank did not specify whether the programme applies to seasonal surcharges or additional services beyond accommodation.
This partnership follows a broader wave of MoUs between banks and travel or hospitality brands, as competition for customer engagement and loyalty grows in the country’s financial sector.
The deal is expected to appeal to travellers planning trips during the Eid‑ul‑Adha holiday and other peak holiday periods, offering a significant cost saving for customers using Standard Islami Bank cards at a major beachside resort in Bangladesh.
