A low‑pressure system is currently prevailing over the sea, prompting the weather office to forecast temporary squally winds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour (km/h) accompanied by rain or thundershowers in seven districts.
River ports in the affected areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.
According to the inland river port forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), valid until 6pm Wednesday, temporary squally winds from the south or southeast at 45 to 60 km/h may occur with rain or thundershowers over Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar.
In its subsequent 24‑hour outlook, beginning at 6pm Wednesday, the BMD forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Similar conditions may occur at a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions.
Moderately heavy rainfall is also expected at some places across the country.
Both day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged nationwide during the period.
