Before Spider-Man: Brand New Day begins its global theatrical run, Bangladesh was among the first countries to witness Peter Parker’s next adventure, as Star Cineplex hosted an exclusive premiere at its Centrepoint Uttara branch on Thursday.
The advance screening welcomed journalists, media representatives, celebrities, content creators and devoted Marvel fans, turning the multiplex into a vibrant celebration of one of cinema’s most beloved superheroes.
Before the lights dimmed, Darius Rahman, Director and Marketing Director of Star Cineplex, and Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, AGM of the company’s Media and Marketing Division, briefed journalists on the significance of the release and Bangladesh’s early screening.
Among those in attendance were media personality Rakin Absar, celebrity actor-model couple Sayed Zaman Shawon and Mumtaheena Toya, actress Samira Khan Mahi, filmmaker Abrar Athar, corporate personality Ghulam Sumdany Don, podcaster Sameer Ahmed of Sameerscane, cosplayer Kazi Noor and many Marvel enthusiasts dressed as Spider-Man.
The excitement extended beyond the auditorium. Fans posed for photographs, discussed theories and eagerly counted down the moments until the lights went out, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a fan festival than a routine film screening.
Bangladesh will officially screen the film on 30 July, a full day ahead of its worldwide release on 31 July, including in the United States.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Tom Holland’s fourth standalone outing as Spider-Man.
Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Mark Ruffalo return, while Eman Esfandi and Stranger Things star Sadie Sink join the franchise in new roles.
Jon Bernthal also reprises his fan-favourite role as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher.
Set four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film follows Peter Parker after Doctor Strange’s spell erased his identity from the world’s memory.
Now completely alone, Peter embraces life as a full-time Spider-Man while confronting emotional isolation, greater responsibility and a formidable new threat.
The film also makes history as the first feature produced entirely under the “Shot for ScreenX” initiative, offering audiences an immersive 270-degree panoramic viewing experience.
Anticipation for the film has been extraordinary.
Its trailer drew more than 718 million views within its first 24 hours, while advance ticket sales have reflected overwhelming global demand, setting the stage for another blockbuster chapter in Spider-Man’s cinematic journey.
