Police arrested six people for their alleged involvement in mugging five lakh Saudi riyals from an expatriate on Tuesday night.
A police team conducted the drive and arrested the accused with 2.70 lakh Saudi riyal. According to a police, some miscreants put barricade on a road in front of the Tejgaon Polytechnical in the capital and at gunpoint they mugged the expatriate who was in a car. The arrestees are now in police custody.
The looted money is equivalent to Tk 1.65 crore. The drive will continue to arrest other members and to recover rest of the amount.
