Bangladesh’s leading golfer Siddikur Rahman carded a solid three-under-par 69 in the third round of the Jakarta International Championship on Saturday. The 40-year-old’s effort moved him to six-under for the tournament, leaving him tied for 22nd on the leaderboard and within striking distance of the leaders.
Siddikur, who opened with rounds of 68 and 67, continued his consistent showing at the Pondok Indah Golf Course. With a cluster of players bunched in the middle of the pack, a strong final round could lift him further up the standings.
At the top of the leaderboard, the tournament is finely poised with three players sharing the lead on 11 under par. Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent shot a sparkling 62, while Australia’s Wade Ormsby added a 67 and India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar recorded a 69 to join him at the summit.
Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana and Poom Saksansin sit one shot back on 10 under, keeping the pressure firmly on the leaders heading into the final day.
With only five strokes separating Siddikur from the top ten, the Bangladeshi veteran will be aiming to make a late push and secure a strong finish in one of Asia’s flagship tournaments.
