The government has officially relieved Sheikh Bashir Uddin from his position as the Board of Directors chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, after he tendered his resignation.
According to a gazette notification issued on Wednesday by Biman-1 branch of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the government has released him from his responsibilities at the state-owned national flag carrier.
Bashir, who was serving as the adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism at the time, submitted his resignation letter on Monday. He had originally been appointed to the role of chairman of the airline via a government notification issued on 26 August last year.
