Shakira has teased the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, sharing a one-minute clip from Brazil’s Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Posting on social media, the Colombian pop star wrote: “From Maracana Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026.”

In the video, Shakira appears on the pitch of the iconic stadium, where she recently performed a free concert, holding the official World Cup match ball, the ‘Trionda’.

She is joined in the track by Nigerian artist Burna Boy, with the pair singing a verse in English.

The lyrics include:
“Knew from the day you were born
Here in this place, you belong
You’ve been this brave all along
What broke you once made you strong.”

Dancers wearing colours of participating national teams also appear in the clip, adding to the tournament-themed visuals.

The chorus repeats “Dai, dai, we go, dale, ale, let’s go”, with “Dai, Dai” appearing to reference the Italian phrase for “let’s go”, while “dale, ale” is a Spanish expression meaning “go on” or “we can do it”.

The clip, also shared by the FIFA World Cup account, ends with the message: “We’re ready!”

The song is scheduled for official release on May 14.

Shakira has a long association with FIFA World Cup music, having performed “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, the official song of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. She also performed at the 2006 and 2014 World Cup finals.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to begin on June 11, with Mexico facing South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
