A seminar focusing on higher education opportunities in the Russian Federation for Bangladeshi students under the Russian government scholarship quota was held at the Russian House in Dhaka.

Participants at the event were briefed on the selection process for higher and advanced professional education programmes under the Russian state quota.

They were also guided through the online application procedure via the platform https://education-in-russia.com.

The seminar highlighted Russia’s longstanding contribution to the development of Bangladesh’s education sector. Over the years, thousands of Bangladeshi students have studied at various Russian universities, gaining not only quality education but also valuable international exposure.

Dr Mahamudul Hasan, a former student of the National Medical Research Centre of Oncology (N.N. Blokhin, Moscow), shared his personal experiences and insights into the potential of Russian higher education during the event.

It was noted that Russia’s higher education system includes more than 750 universities and over 650 specialised fields of study. For the 2026 academic year, approximately 200 scholarship quotas have been allocated for Bangladeshi students. The application window will remain open until January 2026.

In addition to academic opportunities, participants were also informed about the various initiatives of the Russian House, options for learning the Russian language, and avenues for youth engagement through cultural and educational programmes.
