RMG Club Ltd and the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) have agreed to pursue closer collaboration to strengthen Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry through greater industry coordination, technology adoption, sustainability and investment promotion.
The two organisations discussed a long-term strategic partnership at a meeting held at the Amber Group head office in Dhaka on Wednesday, according to a joint press release.
The meeting was attended by RMG Club President Rezaul Alam Miru, BTMA President Showkat Aziz Russell and senior representatives from both organisations.
The discussions centred on improving the global competitiveness of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector by strengthening collaboration across the value chain, promoting technological advancement, boosting productivity, encouraging sustainable manufacturing and expanding knowledge-sharing.
The organisations also identified research, leadership development, international networking, trade and investment promotion, and constructive policy dialogue as priority areas for future cooperation.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to building a more resilient, competitive and sustainable textile and apparel ecosystem.
Miru said stronger partnerships across the industry would accelerate innovation, sustainability and global competitiveness throughout the textile and apparel value chain.
Russell said closer cooperation among industry stakeholders is essential to address emerging challenges, seize new opportunities and reinforce Bangladesh’s position as one of the world’s leading sourcing destinations for textiles and apparel.
The meeting concluded with both organisations agreeing to maintain regular engagement and jointly pursue initiatives to support the long-term growth of the country’s largest export industry.
