Rashmika Mandanna has completed filming what the makers describe as India’s first female-led underwater fight sequence for her upcoming film Mysaa. The actor performed the demanding action scenes herself without using a stunt double, marking a major milestone for the project.
According to NDTV, the filmmakers shared behind-the-scenes photographs and a glimpse of the sequence on social media. A press release said Rashmika spent nearly 20 hours underwater across two days to complete the shoot.
Announcing the achievement, the makers wrote that the sequence pushes the boundaries of Indian cinema, describing it as an intense underwater battle led by Rashmika. “The Surface Was Never the Limit. Beneath the depths lies a battle unlike anything Indian cinema has seen. Get ready to witness the fury,” they said.
Rashmika also reflected on the experience through her Instagram Stories, calling it the toughest challenge of her career so far.
“I know I’ve been MIA but this is what we’ve been doing. This is by far the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in life! We are crazy for this but that’s what’s gotten me so so excited! Let’s goooo! #Mysaa,” she wrote.
Mysaa, directed by Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films, is described as an emotional action thriller set in tribal lands.
