Telugu cinema’s most talked-about duo, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, are officially engaged. According to Hindustan Times, the private ceremony took place in Hyderabad on Friday, attended only by their closest friends and family members.
Although neither star has yet made a formal announcement, news of their engagement has sent fans into celebration mode, marking a defining moment in a relationship that has captivated audiences for years.
The story of Rashmika and Vijay traces back to 2017. At the time, Rashmika had recently parted ways with actor Rakshit Shetty, citing incompatibility.
Soon after, destiny brought her together with Vijay on the sets of Geetha Govindam, the romantic comedy that would not only become a massive hit but also the starting point of their long-speculated off-screen bond.
When Geetha Govindam released in 2018, audiences were instantly charmed by their effortless chemistry. The on-screen magic continued with Dear Comrade (2019), where their emotional performances, and visible comfort with each other, reignited rumours of a blossoming real-life romance.
From 2020 onwards, sightings of the two together became increasingly common. Fans spotted them at airports, private dinners, and on vacations, with eagle-eyed followers noticing matching locations in their social media photos.
Rashmika’s regular presence at family events hosted by Vijay only deepened speculation, yet both actors remained tight-lipped whenever asked about their relationship.
By 2023, however, the dynamic between them seemed to have evolved. They appeared together more frequently in public, and during 2024’s promotional events, both hinted at being in committed relationships, though without naming each other.
Now, sources quoted by Deccan Chronicle confirm that the two exchanged rings in a low-key ceremony, surrounded by their inner circle. Industry insiders further claim that the wedding is being planned for February 2026, possibly aligning with the release of their next on-screen collaboration, directed by Rahul Sankrityan.
