Pubali Bank PLC has secured the internationally recognised Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification, strengthening safeguards around card-based and digital transactions and reinforcing its focus on information security, ethical banking and customer trust.
The certification marks a significant milestone for the bank, which has operated in Bangladesh’s banking sector for nearly seven decades and positions itself as a long-standing institution built on service, trust and ethical practices. With PCI DSS accreditation, Pubali Bank PLC aligns its card and digital payment operations with globally accepted security benchmarks.
In line with directives issued by Bangladesh Bank, the lender began its PCI DSS compliance initiative in mid-2022. The process involved a series of complex and time-intensive steps, including identifying technological gaps, modernising systems and security infrastructure, and upgrading to the latest version of the PCI DSS framework. After completing all required stages, the bank achieved the certification for the first time on 31 December 2025.
The certification was awarded by Control Case, an internationally recognised Qualified Security Assessor approved by the PCI Security Standards Council. i-Clique Solutions Limited served as Pubali Bank PLC’s local partner throughout the compliance and assessment process.
Several internal divisions played a central role in the achievement, including the ICT Operations Division, Card Operations Division, Software Development Division, Card Business Division and the Alternative Delivery Channel ADC Division, reflecting coordinated efforts across technology, operations and business units.
To formally acknowledge the achievement, a PCI DSS Certification Award ceremony was held at the boardroom of Pubali Bank PLC’s head office. At the event, the certification was officially handed over to the bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Ali.
