For nearly three decades, Pikachu has remained one of gaming’s most recognisable characters. While the Pokémon franchise has introduced regional variants, Mega Evolutions and seasonal costumes over the years, the iconic mascot’s core design has largely remained unchanged.

According to ScreenRant, Pokémon has now unveiled another official look for its beloved mascot with the release of the Wedding Kimono Pikachu (Male) Plush, launched through the Pokémon Center as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
The new nine-inch plush features Pikachu dressed in a traditional black montsuki kimono decorated with two Poké Balls on the front. Priced at $29.99, it is marketed as a wedding-themed collectible and gift. A matching Wedding Dress Pikachu (Female) version has also been released.
Pikachu has appeared in numerous themed outfits over the years, reflecting holidays such as Christmas and Halloween, seasonal collections including summer beachwear, and milestone occasions such as graduation. Earlier this year, Pokémon also revived the original “Fat Pikachu” design from the first generation as a commemorative plush to mark the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

The steady stream of new Pikachu merchandise has become more noticeable throughout 2026 as Pokémon celebrates its milestone year with collaborations, special releases and anniversary collections.
The wedding-themed edition adds another distinctive look to the franchise’s mascot. With summer being a popular wedding season, the plush is expected to appeal to Pokémon fans looking for themed gifts or decorative items for wedding celebrations.
