Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Sylhet on Wednesday morning for a one-day visit to attend a series of scheduled programmes in Moulvibazar.

Prime Minister landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 10:15am on a US-Bangla Airlines flight. He later travelled by road towards Sreemangal in Moulvibazar.

Tight security measures were put in place at the airport and surrounding areas ahead of his arrival, with members of law enforcement agencies deployed in and around key points. BNP leaders and activists from both district and metropolitan units gathered at the airport and along roadside locations to welcome him.

Later in the afternoon, the Tarique Rahman is scheduled to attend a political meeting at Dusai Resort in Sreemangal with local party leaders.

Upon completion of his engagements, he is expected to depart for Sylhet at around 5:45pm before flying back to Dhaka at 8:30pm.
