After battling silence, illness, and years away from the stage, Aurthohin is making a thunderous comeback with ‘Phoenixer Diary 2’, their first album in nearly three years, set to drop on October 17.
Ahead of the big day, the band will host an exclusive secret listening party on October 10, a treat designed for their most dedicated listeners. The announcement has already sent waves of excitement through Aurthohin’s loyal fanbase, many of whom have been counting days since the first installment, ‘Phoenixer Diary 1’, hit the scene in December 2022.
The comeback does not stop there. Aurthohin has also announced a much-anticipated US tour, spanning late October to mid-December. The band will light up stages across at least 12 cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Virginia, taking their music to fans who have been waiting overseas for far too long.
For Aurthohin followers, this return feels especially emotional. Frontman and bassist Saidus Salehin Sumon, lovingly known as Bassbaba Sumon, has battled cancer and spinal cord complications in recent years, undergoing multiple treatments, and surgeries. His health struggles kept the band away from the stage, leaving a void in the country’s rock scene.
Now, with his recovery and renewed strength, Aurthohin is ready to reclaim their place under the lights.
“Due to Sumon bhai’s illness, we couldn’t tour abroad and barely played shows at home. Fans have been waiting for this for a long time. Finally, he gave the go-ahead, and now it’s happening,” said the band’s manager, Ehsanul Haque.
The current lineup features Sumon alongside Mark Don on drums, and Ehtesham Ali on guitar: a trio ready to take the stage with fresh fire. Official venues, and concert dates will soon be revealed on the band’s platforms.
