Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday exchanged greetings with Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Dhaka ahead of the funeral prayer of former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
The two leaders arrived in the capital in the morning to attend the state funeral of the three-time former prime minister and BNP chairperson, representing their respective governments.
Prior to the namaz-e-janaza (Funeral prayer), Sadiq and Jaishankar separately conveyed condolence messages to BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman on the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, reflecting Pakistan’s and India’s respect for the veteran Bangladeshi political leader.
