Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday expressed deep sorrow regarding the loss of life and extensive destruction caused by catastrophic floods and landslides across Bangladesh.
In a message of condolence, he conveyed his deepest sympathies to the families who have lost loved ones. On behalf of the Pakistani people, he reaffirmed their firm solidarity with the government and the people of Bangladesh during this difficult period.
“We pray for the swift recovery of the injured and the safety of all those affected,” Sharif said in a message shared on his X account.
The flood crisis in seven districts throughout the southeastern and northeastern parts of the country has intensified due to ongoing heavy rainfall, landslides, and the flow of water from upstream. To date, the natural disaster has resulted in 51 fatalities.
