Actor Omar Sani has shared a heartfelt tribute to longtime friend and fellow Dhallywood actor Bapparaj, recalling their years of working together and praising his humility, friendship and mischievous sense of humour.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, 20 October, Sani described Bapparaj as a good person, a loyal friend and someone who has always brought laughter to those around him.
The two actors have appeared in numerous films together and maintained a warm relationship beyond the screen. Looking back on their professional experiences, Sani said he was often impressed by Bapparaj’s modest attitude, despite being the son of legendary actor Nayak Raj Razzak and an accomplished performer in his own right.
“We worked on many films together, and he never showed any arrogance. Sometimes I wondered why someone like him, the son of Nayak Raj and a good actor himself, would work alongside us. But at the end of the day, he would say that the work itself was what mattered most,” Sani wrote.
Alongside his admiration, Sani recalled Bapparaj’s playful behaviour on film sets, saying his friend has not lost his mischievous streak over the years.
“He used to play so many pranks, and he still does. If mobile phones had existed back then, I would have gone viral because of his mischief,” he joked.
Sani also described Bapparaj as a close friend of both himself and actress Moushumi. He praised his friend for staying away from bad habits and expressed respect for the way he conducts himself.
“Bapparaj bhai, I salute you for one reason: you have no bad habits. In comparison, we are the ones who fall short,” he wrote.
Concluding his tribute, Sani said he felt proud to have Bapparaj as a contemporary in the film industry, while adding one final playful reminder of his friend’s enduring mischievous nature.
“I am proud of Bapparaj as someone from my generation. But at the end of the day, I still say you are very naughty,” he added.
