NRB Bank PLC has signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank under the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance to support an Entrepreneurship Development Programme under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program, aiming to train entrepreneurs and back emerging businesses across the country.
The agreement was signed recently at a ceremony held in the presence of Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar. Bangladesh Bank Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department Nawshad Mustafa and NRB Bank PLC Deputy Managing Director Md Shaheen Howlader signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Also present at the event were Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Husne Ara Shikha and NRB Bank PLC Managing Director CC Anwar Uddin. Among others in attendance were Md Nazrul Islam Project Director and Additional Director, Mohammad Wasim Deputy Project Director and Joint Director, and Md Ariful Islam Deputy Director and Project Coordinator.
Under the agreement, NRB Bank will provide training to small and medium enterprise entrepreneurs to enhance their skills, competitiveness and innovation capacity, with technical and institutional support from Bangladesh Bank.
The programme is part of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program, implemented under the Finance Division, and is designed to strengthen entrepreneurship and support the growth of new and emerging enterprises.
NRB Bank said the initiative reflects its ongoing efforts to promote financial inclusion, empower entrepreneurs and contribute to building a more resilient and innovation-driven economy.
