President of Nagorik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna has stepped back from his demand for the “Shapla” symbol.

At the same time, he has stated that if the Election Commission (EC) gives this symbol to the National Citizen Party (NCP), he will not file any case.

Manna informed this in a post on his official social media Facebook account on Thursday afternoon.

The Nagorik Oikya president said, “If I am not given the ‘Shapla’ symbol due to the national symbol policy, then the Election Commission cannot give it to anyone else. However, they (NCP) came to me. Considering the age and experience of those who carried out the July uprising, and considering the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina’s fascism, I am sympathetic towards them. If the ‘Shapla’ symbol is given to them, I can make one promise – I will not file any case.”
