The government has appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) in four districts – Rajbari, Thakurgaon, Pabna, and Rangpur.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued official notifications on Wednesday confirming the appointments.
According to notifications, Afroza Parvin, director (deputy secretary) of the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority, has been appointed DC of Rajbari; Mohammad Rafiqul Haque, deputy secretary of the Public Administration Ministry, will take charge in Thakurgaon; Aminul Islam has been posted to Pabna; and Mohammad Ruhul Amin, secretary (deputy secretary) of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission; has been assigned to Rangpur.
The outgoing DCs-Shahad Mostafa (Pabna), Ishrat Farzana (Thakurgaon), Mohammad Enamul Ahsan (Rangpur), and Sultana Akter (Rajbari)-have been placed under the Public Administration Ministry awaiting their next posting.
This follows the government’s previous move on 29 March, when new DCs were appointed in 11 other districts.
Generally, officials at the Deputy Secretary level are designated as DCs to represent the central government at the district level.
