Television director Naznin Hasan Khan was honoured with the Best Director award at the 14th edition of the Bioscope Star Awards, held at the Bishwo Sahitya Kendra auditorium in Banglamotor, Dhaka, on 24 August.
She received the award for her drama Sarba-Pathi Doctor, which was praised for its storytelling, character development and portrayal of family and social realities.
Actor Mosharraf Karim presented the award to Naznin, making the moment particularly meaningful for the director.
Expressing her gratitude, Naznin said, “A creator’s greatest achievement is seeing their work reach audiences and receive their love. Sarba-Pathi Doctor is a special project for me. Every artiste and crew member involved worked with sincerity, and I am grateful to all of them. This recognition will inspire me to create better and more meaningful work.”
Naznin began her career as a playwright in 2010 and has since established herself as a director of television dramas, telefilms and serials.
She has directed more than 50 productions, with family relationships, social realities and everyday human experiences often at the heart of her storytelling.
Her notable works include Mayer Iccha and Adhunik Chor.
She previously won Best Director awards at the Babisas Awards 2024 and the Television Reporters Association of Bangladesh (TRAB) Awards 2025.
Her latest Bioscope Star Award adds another recognition to her growing list of achievements and further strengthens her position in Bangladesh’s television drama industry.
The awards ceremony was attended by several prominent figures from the entertainment industry, including actors Shamim Zaman, AKM Hasan, Robena Reza Jui and Farid Hossain, along with directors Fahad, Momin Sarkar and others.
