National Bank partners insurer for card coverage

National Bank PLC has entered into an agreement with National Life Insurance Company Limited to extend insurance coverage to its credit card customers, marking a move to bundle financial and protection services.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 15 April at the bank’s head office by National Bank Managing Director Adil Chowdhury and National Life Insurance Chief Executive Officer Md Kazim Uddin, representing their respective organisations.

Under the arrangement, National Bank credit cardholders will receive insurance benefits, including coverage for accidental death and sudden demise, subject to payment of a specified premium.

Senior officials from both organisations, including top executives and the bank’s Head of Card Division, attended the signing ceremony.

Bank officials said the initiative is aimed at strengthening customer protection while expanding service offerings in line with evolving consumer demand for integrated financial solutions.

Managing Director Adil Chowdhury said the partnership reflects the bank’s focus on delivering modern, customer-centric services while enhancing value for its cardholders.

The move comes as banks increasingly collaborate with insurers to diversify product portfolios and deepen customer engagement through bundled offerings.
