Narail police recovers a women body from Nabaganga river.

Police in Narail’s Kalia upazila have recovered the floating body of an unidentified woman, aged around 35 to 40, from the Nabaganga River.

The body was retrieved on Saturday night from the Baka Haridanga ferry ghat.

Sub-Inspector Ohidur Rahman of Bardia naval police confirmed the recovery, saying locals had spotted the floating body and alerted the authorities.

Later, police recovered the body and, after preparing the inquest report, sent it to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

He said a Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) team from Jashore collected samples to help identify the woman.

The officer added the woman is believed to have died two to three days ago, but as the body had been in water for a long time, it is initially difficult to determine whether the death was a homicide or an accident. However, there was a black mark on her neck. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report.
