The ICC confirmed on Wednesday that Mushfiqur Rahim has risen seven places to 30th in the Test batting rankings after his milestone performance in the recently concluded Ireland series in Mirpur, where the Bangladesh veteran played his 100th Test and marked the occasion with a century.
Mushfiqur’s innings was one of two centuries for Bangladesh in the match, with Liton Das also reaching three figures. Liton’s contribution has pushed him up eight spots to 37th. Mominul Haque matched that jump, moving to 46th, while Mahmudul Hasan Joy gained two places to 72nd.
The update also brought good news for Bangladesh’s bowlers. Taijul Islam, who produced a standout display in Mirpur and set multiple records during the Test, climbed four places to 15th in the ICC rankings. He is now the highest ranked Bangladesh bowler in the format.
The ICC said the weekly update reflected the individual influence Bangladesh players had on a series in which several senior figures delivered under pressure.
