Additional Inspector General of Police Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has formally assumed office as head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
According to a gazette notification issued Tuesday, he previously served as director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI).
A 15th BCS Police cadre officer, Mosharraf joined the force as ASP in 1995. Over nearly three decades, he worked in CID, DMP, CMP, RAB, Police Headquarters, Police Academy Sardah, and as SP in Pirojpur and Chapainawabganj. He gained wide experience in investigation, intelligence, training and administration.
He holds a Master’s degree in economics from Islamic University, Kushtia, and a Bar‑at‑Law from City University of London. He also received training in forensic science and modern policing at home and abroad.
