Morocco booked their place in the Africa Cup of Nations final after beating Nigeria on penalties in Rabat.
The semifinal ended goalless after extra time. Morocco then won the shootout 4-2 to move one step closer to the title.
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was the hero on the night. He saved two penalties to give the hosts the edge. Youssef En Nesyri then scored the winning spot kick to seal the result.
The game itself had very few clear chances. Both teams played with caution. Morocco looked the more positive side but struggled to break through.
Nigeria came into the match with the best scoring record of the tournament. They failed to live up to that form. Their attack looked flat and lacked urgency.
Stanley Nwabali kept Nigeria in the game with several good saves. He denied Ismael Saibari and dealt well with shots from distance. Morocco could not turn pressure into goals.
Nigeria created very little. Victor Osimhen had one chance in the box but a poor first touch ruined the move.
Nayef Aguerd went close for Morocco late on. His header from a corner struck the outside of the post. By then, penalties felt certain.
In the shootout, Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi both missed for Nigeria. Bounou saved their efforts with ease. En Nesyri made no mistake with the final kick.
Morocco will now face Senegal in the final on Sunday in Rabat. Senegal reached the final after beating Egypt earlier in the day.
Nigeria will play Egypt in the third place match.
Morocco are now one win away from their first Africa Cup of Nations title since 1976. They last reached the final in 2004. Their toughest test still lies ahead.
For Nigeria, it was a quiet end to a strong tournament. A lack of ambition on the night cost them a place in the final.
