A suspected individual identified as Md Zahid has died after being beaten by a mob following a snatching incident at a bKash store in the Adabor area, police said.
According to police, after the mob beating, Adabor Police Station was alerted. Police rescued him in critical condition and took him to Suhrawardy Hospital, where his condition deteriorated.
He was later produced before a court, which ordered that his medical treatment be ensured. However, when he was taken back to the hospital, doctors declared him dead.
Police said the incident occurred after a snatching at a bKash store in the area. Further details regarding the incident and the identity of those involved in the mob beating were not immediately available.
Investigation is ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to report crimes to the police.
The body has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
