The Ministry of Education is considering the academic migration of students from three sessions of seven colleges affiliated with University of Dhaka (DU) to relevant programmes at Dhaka Central University (DCU), according to a press release issued on Saturday.
The proposal covers students registered under DU from 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 academic sessions. The announcement signed by the registrar of DCU, confirmed that the ministry is viewing the transition with “seriousness and positivity”.
To ensure the continuity of academic progress and uninterrupted education, the university authorities have initiated preparatory activities in coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
A “clear and realistic” roadmap is expected to be published at the earliest possible time. This roadmap will include detailed instructions regarding the methods of academic migration, the timeline, and the necessary actions to be taken by the students.
The university administration emphasised that they are giving deep importance to the concerns and expectations of the students, noting that the successful and timely implementation of this process relies on mutual trust, dialogue, and cooperation.
Pending the publication of the roadmap and the completion of formal procedures, the press release urged all students to continue their regular academic activities and maintain a peaceful environment on campus.
