The government has allocated specific responsibilities to ministers and state ministers to monitor and coordinate public welfare and development activities across various districts of Bangladesh.
The move is aimed at maintaining law and order, curbing corruption and drug abuse, and ensuring good governance, transparency, and accountability.
A notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Thursday confirmed the development.
According to the official circular, the district-level monitoring and coordination duties have been assigned to the following ministers and state ministers:
- Iqbal Hassan Mahmood has been assigned to Rajshahi and Natore districts.
- Abu Zafar Mohammad Zahid Hossain will look after Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, and Panchagarh districts.
- Abdul Awal Mintoo has been given responsibility for Lakshmipur district.
- Nitai Roy Chowdhury is assigned to Chuadanga district.
- Khandakar Abdul Muktadir will oversee Habiganj district.
- Ariful Haque Choudhury has been assigned to Moulvibazar district.
- Md Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee will oversee Chattogram district.
- M Rashiduzzaman Millat has been given charge of Sherpur, Mymensingh, and Netrokona districts.
- Asadul Habib Dulu will look after Thakurgaon and Dinajpur districts.
- Md Asaduzzaman is assigned to Khulna, Satkhira, and Bagerhat districts.
- Zakaria Taher will oversee Feni and Noakhali districts.
- Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain has been assigned to Manikganj and Munshiganj districts.
- Sa Ching Prue Jerry will look after Cox’s Bazar district.
- Md Shariful Alam is assigned to Tangail and Mymensingh districts.
- Shama Obaed Islam will oversee Madaripur and Shariatpur districts.
- Aninda Islam Amit has been given charge of Meherpur, Kushtia, and Jhenaidah districts.
- Abdul Bari will look after Bogura and Chapainawabganj districts.
- Sultan Salauddin Tuku is assigned to Dhaka district.
- Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin will oversee Khagrachhari, Bandarban, and Rangamati districts.
- Habibur Rashid is assigned to Gazipur and Narayanganj districts.
- Rajib Ahsan has been given charge of Barguna, Patuakhali, and Pirojpur districts.
- Mir Shahe Alam will look after Rangpur, Gaibandha, and Kurigram districts.
- Farzana Sharmin is assigned to Sirajganj and Pabna districts.
- Shaikh Faridul Islam will oversee Jashore, Magura, and Narail districts.
- Yaser Khan Chowdhury is assigned to Jamalpur and Kishoreganj districts.
- Ahmed Sohel Manzur will look after Barishal, Bhola, and Jhalakathi districts.
- Mohammad Shamim Kaisar Lincoln has been given responsibility for Joypurhat and Naogaon districts.
- Md GK Gouse will oversee Sylhet and Sunamganj districts.
- Mia Nuruddin Ahmed is assigned to Rajbari, Faridpur, and Gopalganj districts.
- ABM Ashraf Uddin will look after Brahmanbaria, Cumilla, and Chandpur districts.
