Miley Cyrus has announced her new studio album Bass Persuades, which will be released on September 18 through Atlantic Records, writes Variety.

The singer revealed the album on Instagram, describing music as something that can capture every side of life, from happiness and vulnerability to heartbreak.

She said she hopes listeners will connect with the new record.

The album will feature 10 tracks, with guest appearances from Model/Actriz and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow. The full tracklist was revealed on Spotify.

Cyrus is also preparing for a rare live appearance at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, where she will perform on 16 and 18 October.

The shows are expected to feature Bass Persuades in its entirety, with Model/Actriz joining her as a special guest.

Calling the Hollywood Bowl her favourite place to experience live music, Cyrus said she had attended shows there many times but had never performed on its stage.

She added that Los Angeles remains close to her heart.

Tickets will go on sale in stages. An American Express presale begins on 8 September at 10am PT, followed by Cyrus’ own presale on 9 September.

Spotify will also offer reserved tickets to selected top fans before the general sale starts on 10 September.

Cyrus began teasing the album announcement on Sunday with a Los Angeles Times wraparound cover featuring her face and first name.

She also changed her official website to match the campaign.

For the new era, she appears to be using simply “Miley” as her artist name.

The album marks her first release with Atlantic Records after two albums with Columbia Records, including Endless Summer Vacation. That album produced her Grammy-winning hit Flowers.

Earlier this year, Cyrus spoke about her approach to songwriting, saying she sees music as more than chords, melodies and lyrics.

She described a song as a feeling that can develop its own identity during the creative process.

She also said she enjoys working with musicians who are willing to experiment, discard ideas and try something unexpected without letting ego get in the way.
