MetLife Bangladesh has launched a groundbreaking health insurance plan that offers comprehensive coverage for 10 critical illnesses, including heart attack, stroke, and cancer, at an affordable price.
The product, named MetLife Critical Illness Insurance with Return of Premium (MCII-ROP), aims to address the rising treatment costs of serious health conditions that require extensive care, according to a press release.
The coverage extends to kidney failure, end-stage liver failure, stroke, cancer (excluding skin cancer), first heart attack, coronary artery surgery, severe coronary artery disease, heart valve surgery or replacement, primary pulmonary arterial hypertension, and non-cancerous brain tumors. With a focused approach on these specific illnesses, the policy offers more budget-friendly premiums compared to other life insurance plans targeting critical illnesses.
For example, a 30-year-old male with a healthy lifestyle can secure a policy with Tk 5 lakh coverage for as low as Tk 1,402 per month. The policy also offers flexible premium payment options, including one-time, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual payments.
Beyond the coverage for critical illnesses, this plan ensures 100% of the coverage amount is paid in the event of accidental death. Additionally, policyholders will receive a full premium refund upon policy maturity or if death occurs from causes not covered under the policy. The insurance coverage amount ranges from Tk 3 lakh to Tk 20 lakh.
“Launching this health insurance solution is part of our ongoing commitment to providing innovative, affordable protection to our customers during life’s most critical moments,” said MetLife Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Ala Ahmad. “Customers can also rely on MetLife’s renowned efficiency in claims processing, with most claims settled within 3 to 5 days.”
