The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member Bangladesh High Performance (HP) squad for two T20 matches against Malaysia, with SM Meherob Hasan appointed captain. Both matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on August 8 and August 10.
The Malaysia national team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Wednesday before beginning their short tour. After the two T20 matches, the visitors will take on the Bangladesh Under-23 side in a three-match one-day series. Those matches will be held at the Bashundhara Sports Complex on August 12, 14 and 16. The Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to announce the Under-23 squad.
The T20 series forms part of Bangladesh HP’s preparations for the Top End T20 Series in Australia, which begins on August 20 in Darwin. The tournament is expected to provide valuable overseas experience for the country’s emerging cricketers ahead of future international assignments.
The HP squad features a blend of promising young players and those with domestic and international experience. Jishan Alam, Shamim Hossain, Rakibul Hasan, Abu Hider Rony and Sabbir Rahman Roman are among the notable names included, alongside captain SM Meherob Hasan.
