‘Manush Boroi Swarthopor’ is one of the most discussed and popular songs in Bangladesh’s music scene in recent times.
The song was written and composed by singer-songwriter Rohan Raj. Sukumar Baul originally sang the track, which has since crossed 200 million views across various platforms.
Later, singer Tosiba drew attention by performing the song. Now, Rohan Raj has brought a new version of the popular track with five singers.
Rohan Raj has joined Sumi Shabnam, Salma, Tosiba and promising singer Zarin on vocals for the new version. The track features new musical arrangements by Rohan Raj.
The music video was shot at a location in the capital on September 8. Masum Khan directed the video.
The song will be released next Thursday on Nakib Sohag’s YouTube channel, E-Sound Music.
Sumi Shabnam said she was deeply moved when she first heard the song. She later asked Rohan Raj to include her in the new version.
“I cried a lot the day I first heard this song. When I learned that it was being recreated, I requested Rohan bhai to let me be part of it. This song is very close to my heart, so I am extremely happy to be involved,” she said.
Salma said the song’s lyrics and melody touched her heart when it was first released.
She added that she had often told Rohan Raj, jokingly but with some disappointment, that she wished he had given the song to her.
“Thank you to Rohan for including me in ‘Manush Boroi Swarthopor’. Earlier, I used to sing it as someone else’s song. Now I can sing it as my own, and that makes me very happy,” Salma said.
Tosiba described ‘Manush Boroi Swarthopor’ as one of her favourite songs and said she believes the new version will take the track even further.
Zarin said her musical style is different, but Rohan Raj’s encouragement led her to join the project.
“Thank you and gratitude to Rohan bhai. I hope this song will once again win the hearts of music lovers,” she said.
Rohan Raj said all four singers who joined him had performed the song exceptionally well.
He added that each of them had expressed interest in singing the track, which encouraged him to take on the challenge of creating a new version with them.
“I am very hopeful that this version will also captivate listeners,” he said.
