A man was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute over money owed in Lohagara upazila of Narail on Saturday night.
The deceased, Alinur Fakir, 30, was a mason by profession.
Inspector (Investigation) Ajit Kumar Roy of Lohagara Police Station confirmed the incident.
According to locals, He was attacked around 10pm near Kumirdanga Govt Primary School in Itna union after he demanded money allegedly owed to him by Rajib Sheikh.
During the altercation, Rajib allegedly stabbed Alinur and fled the scene.
Locals rushed Alinur to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
Inspector (Investigation) Ajit said the body would be sent to Narail District Hospital for an autopsy and legal action would be taken after an investigation.
The accused remains absconding, he added.
