The government has dismissed Tapasi Tabassum Urmi, a former assistant commissioner at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Lalmonirhat, over a controversial Facebook post about the interim government and its Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued an official notification on Wednesday regarding the matter.

For the same reason, she was first made an OSD (Officer on Special Duty) and later suspended. The notification stated that she was dismissed following a departmental case filed against her on charges of “misconduct” under Rule 3(b) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.

On October 6 last year, Urmi posted a Facebook status making controversial remarks about the interim government and the chief adviser, prompting disciplinary action, it stated.

Additionally, Tapasi Tabassum had posted several statuses supporting the ousted government during the student-public mass uprising, including derogatory remarks about Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the July Uprising.

Earlier, Urmi was made OSD (Officer on Special Duty) on October 6 last year, and later she was temporarily suspended.
