The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at the consumer level for the month of August.
According to a notification issued by the BERC on Sunday, the price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder has been raised by Tk70.
Under the new rate, consumers will now have to pay Tk1,598 for a 12 kg cylinder, which was previously priced at Tk1,528.
The commission clarified that the new price, which includes Value Added Tax (VAT) at the retail level, was determined for the current month.
As per the announcement, the revised pricing will come into effect from 6pm. This rate will remain in force until further notice is issued by the regulatory body.
