Kiara Advani believes Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups will mark a significant turning point in her career, reports Hindustan Times.
At the film’s trailer launch in Bengaluru on Saturday, the actor spoke about playing Nadia, a character whose intense and revenge-driven personality has already sparked curiosity among audiences.
Kiara credited her co-star Yash and director Geetu Mohandas for believing in her and helping her take what she described as a fearless leap as an actor.
“I truly believe that Geetu and Yash manifested for me to be Nadia in this film. They saw it in me and believed I was capable of this much before I knew about that fearless leap that I was ready to take as an actor,” she said.
The actor also thanked Yash and Mohandas for creating an environment where she could explore the character freely.
“Thank you Geetu and thank you Yash for giving me a part that I know will be very special for me as an actor in my journey. I think there will be a Kiara before Toxic and a Kiara after Toxic,” she said.
Kiara added that working on the film had raised her expectations of what she wanted to explore in future projects.
“You have spoiled me and every actor on this film. What we’ve tasted is now going to make us want so much more and we’re just going to be so much more greedier with every film we step into,”
she said.
The actor remained tight-lipped about Nadia’s character but urged audiences to experience her journey for themselves.
“I cannot wait for the world to experience Nadia. I don’t think I can describe her in one word. So, I’m just going to let the audience go and experience it,” she said.
Kiara also praised her co-stars and the film’s technical team, saying excellence was the baseline throughout the production.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash in the lead, with Kiara playing Nadia.
The recently released trailer has generated considerable discussion, particularly around Kiara’s intense new avatar.
For the actor, however, the film represents more than another release.
It is an opportunity to push herself creatively and explore a side of her performance she had not previously attempted.
