BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia underwent a series of health checkups at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday night, as part of her ongoing medical monitoring. According to BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan, Khaleda Zia arrived at the hospital from her Gulshan residence at around 7:47 PM and stayed for approximately four and a half hours. She returned home at around 12:08 AM after completing the scheduled tests.

Her personal physician, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, stated that the hospital visit was carried out based on the recommendations of her medical board, led by Professor Shahabuddin Talukder. “She underwent various necessary medical tests at the hospital,” said Dr. Zahid, adding that the medical board will evaluate the results and determine the next steps in her treatment plan.

The 79-year-old political leader has been suffering from multiple chronic health conditions for several years. Since her return from London on May 6, she has been receiving continuous treatment at home under the supervision of a medical board comprising specialists from Evercare Hospital and her personal doctors.

During her four-month stay in London, Khaleda Zia received advanced treatment under the care of renowned liver specialist Professor Patrick Kennedy. Her travel to and from London was arranged with the support of a special air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
