Actors Farhan Ahmed Jovan and Tanjin Tisha, once one of the most popular pairs on Bangladeshi television, have reunited for a new drama after a long break.
The duo previously won praise for their performances in dramas such as I Hate Love Story, Matal Hawa, Ki Kore Bolbo Toke and Couple Campus.
Their pairing is popularly known among fans as ‘Tivan’, and their return has sparked nostalgia among viewers.
Fans took to the drama’s comment section to express their excitement.
One viewer, Rudra, wrote that he had followed the pair’s work for years and felt their on-screen chemistry had a unique charm.
“Both of them become something special when they work together. Why do they work together so rarely? We should see more dramas featuring this pair,” the viewer wrote.
Another viewer, Tofazzal Hossain, said he had missed watching Jovan and Tisha together.
“After a long time, I watched a new drama featuring Jovan and Tanjin Tisha. I am impressed by their on-screen chemistry. Regardless of the story, their natural acting and understanding make the pairing work so well. That is why I miss their dramas. They should work together more regularly,” he wrote.
Jovan and Tisha began their careers around the same time but eventually stepped away from working together regularly.
Speaking about their latest project, Jovan said, “It has been a long time since we worked together. We shot this drama before Eid.”
Directed by Mahmud Mahin, Protishodh follows a young man who returns to Bangladesh after completing his studies abroad and working for a year.
When he attends an interview for a CEO position at a local company, he encounters an unexpected experience that leads him towards a different kind of revenge centred on his career.
The drama also explores the questionable expectations some organisations place on candidates during the recruitment process, while delivering a message of social awareness.
Written by Shahjahan Saurav and Mahmud Mahin, the drama also features Arefin Zilani, Manas Bandopadhyay and Barda Mithu.
