Paris Saint-Germain have been boosted by the return of Portugal midfielder Joao Neves ahead of their Champions League away fixture against Barcelona, the Ligue 1 club confirmed on Tuesday.
Neves had been sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during PSG’s 4-0 win over Atalanta in their European opener two weeks ago. His return comes as a timely boost for the defending champions as they prepare for one of their toughest group stage fixtures.
Fellow Portuguese midfielder Vitinha has also been included in the squad after being substituted in the first half of PSG’s Ligue 1 match against AJ Auxerre last Saturday, raising initial fitness concerns.
However, Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia misses out due to a thigh injury. The club will also be without captain Marquinhos, as well as forwards Ousmane Dembélé and Desire Doué, all of whom are sidelined with injuries.
PSG will face Barcelona on Wednesday, October 1, night as they look to maintain momentum in their European campaign.
